I’m a licensed veterinary technician based in Seattle, WA, where I get to live out my passion for helping animals every day. I have a special interest in participating in spay and neuter projects—both in local communities and in parts of Mexico—to help address overpopulation and reduce animal suffering.
I was born and raised in Montana, and my love for the outdoors has always been a core part of who I am. Outside of work, I enjoy playing soccer, skiing, snowboarding, and am currently working on improving my surfing skills with my partner, Alex. At home, I’m usually with my two dogs and my cat, Birdie—or out in the garden, getting my hands dirty.
In 2021, I adopted my first SFS (Streets of Sinaloa) dog, Moecha. She’s the most intuitive and gentle companion I’ve ever known, and our bond has deepened in such meaningful ways since the day we met. We’ve grown together, and I feel incredibly lucky to have her in my life.
Our second dog, Juniper, joined us during a volunteer SFS trip that Alex and I participated in. We were asked to transport three nervous, three-month-old puppies back to the U.S. and Canada for adoption. On her very first night with us, Juniper curled up in my arms and let out a sigh of complete relaxation. The connection was instant and undeniable—I knew I couldn’t let her go, so we officially adopted her too.
I was initially hesitant about introducing a cat into a household with two street-savvy dogs, but in 2023, Birdie came into our lives during a spay and neuter project where she was rescued from a hoarding situation. She was meant to be a foster, but—as often happens—she became a “foster fail.” To my surprise and joy, she and Juniper formed the sweetest friendship, and now I can’t imagine our home without her.
After spending 14 years involved in spay and neuter projects in another region of Mexico, I came to deeply appreciate just how loving, intelligent, and resilient the Mexican "street dogs” are. I had always known I wanted to adopt one someday. When I heard about SFS from someone who had adopted an amazing dog through their program, I felt an instant pull. I knew I was ready to connect and take the next step—and that’s where my journey with SFS truly began.
At SFS, I support a variety of efforts that align with my passion for animal welfare. I assist with tracking medical data, organizing and gathering medical supply donations, transporting dogs to their new homes, and participating in spay and neuter campaigns.
I’m proud to be part of an organization that is deeply committed to creating a better future for animals through youth education, responsible adoption, and accessible veterinary care. The mission of SFS—to find loving homes for homeless dogs and provide free spay and neuter services to underserved communities—is something I wholeheartedly believe in and feel honored to contribute to.
