Surfers for Strays is seeking hard-working volunteers to help in our dog rescue center in Troncones, Mexico. We believe this is paradise, but it can also be a very challenging environment. The location is extremely hot, more so in the summer, and there are bugs. It is a tropical climate after all! The work is hard but very rewarding. We rescue and rehabilitate dogs, puppies, cats and kittens, many of which arrive in poor health with diseases or disabilities.

We are seeking detail-oriented, kind-hearted, animal-loving people that are willing to give these furbears lots of love and the opportunity to lead healthy and happy lives. We need organized and tidy people to manage different work loads that include feeding, medicating, walking, advertising, and generally preparing animals to become healthy enough to be adopted.

We will provide free board to those who commit to two months of work. It requires living in close quarters with other people and dogs. You will share common spaces such as the kitchen and bathrooms with other volunteers. The workload is approximately 6 days a week, for 4 hrs per day (but may require you to be available outside of that time, depending on the animals’ needs).

If you are interested in helping Surfers for Strays save lives one paw at a time, please apply to join our team of volunteers in Mexico.
