I love spending time outdoors, whether it’s camping, swimming, hiking, paddle boarding, or biking. Living in North Vancouver, BC, I’m fortunate to have nature so close. My favourite way to unwind is camping with my husband, Adam, and our dog, Lucy. When I’m not outdoors, I love listening to music, gardening, cooking, reading, and playing video games. But the highlight of my day is always spending time with Lucy and going on long walks together.
In December 2023, Adam and I adopted Lucy through Surfers for Strays, and she’s genuinely brought so much joy to our lives. Lucy is insanely adventurous and loves anything outdoors just like us. Some of her favourite activities are swimming, camping, laying in grass (the longer the grass the better) and training but above all else she loooves playing with other dogs. Her playful energy makes her a special part of our family. My parents fell in love with Lucy so quickly they even adopted her sister, Sophie, a week later. Getting to see them grow up together has been a really unique experience. It’s so different watching the two of them interact compared to how they are with other dogs. They are absolute goofballs and it's clear they know they are sisters!
After adopting Lucy, I saw firsthand how much Surfers for Strays cares for their dogs. I’m particularly inspired by their spay campaigns in Mexico. As a web developer, I’m happy to lend a hand by managing the website and keeping it updated so the team can focus on the dogs.
I assist with the website by adding new content and making necessary updates to keep everything running smoothly. What I love most about my role is that it allows me to combine my passion for technology with my love for animals. Being able to contribute in this way helps me stay connected to the cause, knowing that my work supports the team in their mission to help more dogs.
