I’ve always loved to travel, see new places and try new foods. I grew up in Alaska, but have never been a fan of the cold. After leaving Alaska, I lived in Washington and California before moving to Italy for several years. In 2015, I moved back to Seattle, Washington. Over the years, I’ve studied a variety of languages: Japanese, Spanish, Italian, and most recently Greek. However, I’ve definitely never mastered any of them!
Our household includes three wonderful (and unique) dogs. The oldest, Nico, I rescued while living in Italy; he's a spicy chihuahua mix. Our other two rescues are from SFS. Zoey loves to jump and give kisses and Penny is goofy and the queen of the side-eye. They each have big personalities and keep life lively, entertaining, and full of love.
I first got involved with SFS after adopting Zoey. I was so impressed by the energy and dedication that goes into every rescue. That connection deepened when I traveled to Mexico to pick up Penny and helped bring back another dog who was headed to a foster home. Seeing SFS’s commitment in action made me want to be more involved.
I’ve helped with social media posts and some local logistics, transporting crates and helping transport a couple foster dogs. I also help sponsor the care of a foster dog still waiting for his forever home. What I enjoy most is being part of a community that puts so much heart into helping animals in need find safe and happy homes. It’s inspiring to see how much love and teamwork go into every rescue.
