Currently working full-time entirely remotely, I mostly stay indoors—working, doing chores, then enjoying some leisure activities. I love reading, especially science fiction and horror, but I’ll read anything that’s good and binge-worthy. I also spend some time drawing. Over the past few years, I’ve become a big hockey fan (my partner played hockey for over eight years, and he’s been teaching me how to skate too!).
When I was around five or six, I had a small white Maltipoo named Kitty (I can’t remember why I named him that!). He was my best friend and brought so much joy into my life. I don’t currently have any pets, but my partner and I have been talking about adopting one once we officially move out—soon! (In the picture is my grandma’s dog, Sushi. She’s about four months old now.)
I found out about SFS through a post by my company featuring a coworker who also volunteers here. I’m genuinely fascinated by the organization’s campaigns and programs—their creativity, impact, and compassion truly stand out to me. It’s inspiring to see how much effort goes into rescuing and caring for animals, as well as raising awareness in such a thoughtful and engaging way. It’s a huge plus that SFS offers flexible, remote volunteer opportunities that fit with my busy schedule. I really hope to meet everyone in person in the near future!
(I met this handsome guy during my trip to Vietnam this June.)
While I don’t have a specific role at SFS yet, I’ve been assisting with various tasks as needed—such as organizing and managing pet photos in the organization’s Google Drive for easy access and record-keeping, and helping with bookkeeping tasks, including tracking and recording donation amounts.
