My name is McKayla Mazziotti, I'm originally from Oregon but I currently live in Dallas,Texas I’m happiest when I’m outdoors—running, hiking, kicking around a soccer ball, or just relaxing on a patio with a cold drink in hand. I’m a big fan of books, adventures, and quality time with my favorite humans (aka my husband and family). If you’re ever looking for me, just find the nearest dog (or really, any animal) and I’ll probably be right there!
I have one very special dog named Vito! I like to say I was adopted into his family when I met his dad (now my husband) seven years ago. Vito’s a shepherd mix who joined the family as a tiny rescue pup, and he’s been ruling the household ever since. He’s a big fan of long walks, lounging in the sun, and chewing his bones. Despite his size, he’s a total lap dog at heart and absolutely adores his people!
I found SFS about 5 years ago the first time I traveled to Troncones with my parents. I have followed them through social media for a while and decided to reach out to see if I could help remotely. I've always been the biggest animal lover and SFS' mission of reducing the amount of strays and the ethical treatment of animals really drew me to their organization.
My official role is Foster Medical Coordinator but I'm always eager to help in any way I can. I help make sure all the dogs in foster care stay up to date on their meds and vaccinations. I often write bios and help set up profiles to help get the amazing SFS dogs ready for adoption. One of my favorite things is seeing all the photos of the dogs and choosing the cutest ones for their profile pics on the website.
